Been reading on the subject and would love to convert my Z to EPS. There is also the simpler option of "electrohydraulic", which substitutes the mechanical, engine driven pump with one powered by an electric motor. Seen a video of one of these but have not read any reviews. The pump whine worries me but may only be noticiable in parking lots. There are several "stand alone", steering colum units. While I have not looked too closely under the dash, I doubt there is room for a motor and drive there. There is no room between the firewall and rack, and a hydraulic rack is probably not good to be used in conjunction with the EPS system. That leaves finding an OEM EPS unit that could be substituted for the the one in the Z. This is not going to be easy, especially not having eithe side-by-side to compare, i.e., if such a unit actually exists. Any thoughts?
